The twisted, Orwellian language of gender identity propagandists

Friday, November 09, 2018 by

Gender identity politics are the new black, at least for the increasingly radical left. Daring to “misgender” someone is practically a hanging offense, and studies show that the number of young people who identify as “trans” is on the rise. But what the mainstream media won’t tell you is that the number of people who regret undergoing “gender confirmation” surgery is rising, too. Nor will the Left ever admit that their shifty, Orwellian dialogue on the subject of gender is part of the problem. The twisted language being used by gender identity propagandists is a tool intended to subvert the notion of gender entirely.

Language is a powerful, yet under-recognized, tool in the game of politics and government. It’s simple: By controlling the words people use to talk about gender identity, propagandists ultimately gain control of the narrative — and further, are able to influence the way people think and feel about gender identity. George Orwell illustrated the power of language in 1984, a dystopian fiction novel about an authoritarian regime that uses linguistic manipulation to further its agenda.

From 1984:

“The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation. These contradictions are not accidental, nor do they result from from ordinary hypocrisy: they are deliberate exercises in doublethink”

Orwell, famously, was a left-winger himself — and it is truly ironic that the modern Left is using the concept of doublethink as inspiration for their game of political chess. Orwell was keenly aware of the fact that language plays a substantial role in our thoughts and opinions.

Unraveling the linguistic tools of “gender identity”

“Gender identity” ultimately assumes that gender is nothing more than a social construct, and that a person, regardless of their biological sex, can “choose” to be a different gender, or to have no gender at all.

The use of the term “gender identity” in and of itself implies that one’s “identity” can differ from their biological sex. Phrases like “assigned gender at birth” and “gender confirmation surgery” further this belief. Whether we realize it or not, these terms are increasingly being used to condition society into acceptance. Specifically, accepting the idea that gender is negotiable, or even “fake.”

Gender Spectrum claims that most children have a solid understanding of their “gender identity” by age four. It’d be impressive if a four-year-old could even spell gender identity, let alone understand the concept.

For the record, studies show that between 80 and 95 percent of “trans” kids will go on to accept their biological gender as they get older.

As The Cut reports:

Researchers don’t know why that is, but it appears that in some kids, nascent homo- or bisexuality manifests itself as gender dysphoria. In others, gender dysphoria can arise as a result of some sort of trauma or other unresolved psychological issue, and goes away either with time or counseling.

Normalizing the extreme

“Gender confirmation surgery” is particularly concerning, as it is now a common and accepted form of “treatment” for people who identify as transgender. This is frightening because no doctor would ever condone the removal of body parts as a treatment for virtually any other psychiatric condition.

Until 2018, the World Health Organization (WHO) considered being transgender a mental health issue. It is now called a “sexual health” issue. WHO itself notes that they changed their language on transgender identities to help bolster society’s acceptance.

While personal liberty and freedom is of utmost importance, there is an increasing body of evidence that physically addressing “trans” identities is not the best course of action (though it may be the most profitable).

Estimates suggest that at least one-fifth of patients who undergo surgery ultimately experience regret. This is especially true for children, who are often prescribed hormones or puberty blockers at young ages, despite overwhelming evidence that it is unnecessary and potentially harmful in the long-term.

Many would argue that “gender confirmation surgery” is not that far removed from genital mutilation – which, ironically, leftists are also pushing to normalize. But under the propaganda scheme, mutilation is now “confirmation.”

Erasing gender leads to erasing the self

Overall, the narrative on gender identity is designed to be as confounding as possible. Gender Spectrum claims that biological sex represents a negligible portion of overall gender, stating that a person’s gender is based on three dimensions: Body, identity and expression. The site argues:

“Most societies view sex as a binary concept, with two rigidly fixed options: male or female, both based on a person’s reproductive functions (genitals, sex chromosomes, gonads, hormones, reproductive structures). But a sex binary fails to capture even the biological aspect of gender. While most bodies have one of two forms of genitalia, which are classified as “female” or “male,” there are naturally occurring intersex conditions that demonstrate that sex exists across a continuum of possibilities. This biological spectrum by itself should be enough to dispel the simplistic notion of the “Gender binary”- there are not just two sexes.

While it is not someone’s fault if they are born with a genetic condition or chromosomal disorder that causes them to display intersex traits, it is hardly “proof” of anything — except the fact that human reproduction is not an exact science. Genetic and chromosomal disorders are the result of mutations or other abnormalities. Abnormalities exist across nature, but we don’t go changing our entire understanding of anatomy just because a pair of Siamese twins was born.

Gender identity propagandists are suggesting that biology as we know it be changed to accommodate a group that makes up 0.6 percent of the entire U.S. population.  The invention of more “neutral” and vague terminology is designed to increase confusion among the young, as well as to obscure biological truth. The advancement of “gender identity” propaganda will serve the Left in a myriad of ways: It’s a divisive political tool, for one — and it subverts humanity as we know it.

If gender roles are successfully erased, the erasure of self and individualism is soon to follow.
